How to improve mold quality？

Mold quality is the fundamental reason that affects product quality, output and cost. How to make the mold produce qualified parts with more molds for a longer time under the conditions of high precision, low cost and high efficiency? Experts suggest that mold manufacturers can start from the following five aspects:

1、 The design of parts should be reasonable

The best structure scheme shall be selected as far as possible. The designer of the parts shall consider the technical requirements and structure of the parts must conform to the process and feasibility of mold manufacturing.

2、 Mold design is the most important step to improve mold quality

In addition to meeting the customer’s requirements for product quality, we also need to consider the cost of materials and their strength in the set cycle, and of course, we should select materials according to the type of mold, working mode, processing speed, main failure forms and other factors;

When designing the die structure, try to be compact and easy to operate, and ensure that the die parts have sufficient strength and stiffness; In the design, it is necessary to reduce the scope of disassembly and assembly for maintenance of a certain part, especially for replacement of wearing parts.

3、 Mold manufacturing process

The processing method and precision in the mold manufacturing process will affect the service life of the mold. The accuracy of each component directly affects the overall assembly of the mold. In addition to the accuracy of the equipment itself, it is necessary to improve the processing method of the parts and improve the technical level of the fitter in the mold grinding process to improve the processing accuracy of the mold parts.

4、 Surface strengthening of the main forming parts of the die

Improve the wear resistance of the surface of the die parts. For surface strengthening, different strengthening methods should be selected according to the die for different purposes.

5、 Correct use and maintenance of moulds

The installation and debugging mode of the mould shall be appropriate. During the production of the mould, the parameters of each machine shall conform to the design requirements.
